How To Become a Reiki Master – Master Reiki
Developed in 1922 by Dr. Mikao Usui, but drawing heavily on ancient healing methods, Reiki is a spiritual healing practice. Reiki is based on the concept of moving a healing energy after a Reiki practitioner is attuned, and have developed the skills and knowledge to understand and optimize the healing energies.
This healing Reiki energy is intertwined with the concept of Chakra energy, certainly in modern-day Reiki practice. It should be noted that clinical trials in 2008 did not support the healing powers of Reiki, but try telling that to the many practitioners and believers in the power of Reiki.
Dr. Usui, after a 21 day retreat on Mount Kurami, developed Reiki, which he described as the knowledge and spiritual power to apply to others and attune them. During this 21 day retreat, he meditated, fasted and prayed. Developed after his 21 day retreat, Dr. Usui’s Reiki system incorporated Reiki principles, based on ethical principles he developed. To this day, many Reiki teachers and practitioners still adhere to these principles.
You will not find just one governing body for Reiki, rathere, there are many forms of Reiki with their own organizational structures. All of the many Reiki systems fall into two classifications at the end of the day. The first is traditional, or Japanese Reiki, and the second is Western Reiki.
Perhaps the biggest difference between the two systems is that the traditional Reiki systems tend to rely on intuition to know where to place the hands in treatments, whereas the Western system has a more formal set of hand patterns for treating different ailments. In Western Reiki there is also a more formal process for advancing through the various levels, along with more of an emphasis on healing.
Western Reiki spread throughout the Western world from California, having arrived there from Hawaii.
There are numerous ways and methods for those who wish to become a Reiki Master. Does it take a long time and lots of money to become a Reiki Master – some would say that should be the case. Market forces have prevailed – there are alternatives available which are not costly.
Reiki is one of those things where you will get out of it what you put into it. Dr. Usui himself strongly believed that we all have a Reiki Master within us, just waiting to be awakened or attuned. You have everything you need within you so only guidance is needed which does not have to be time consuming with the right tools and assistance. Online options are available today, supported by remote attunements (one of the skills of a Reiki Master).
All you need to master Reiki and become a Reiki master is a Reiki master to guide you. You cannot do it without a Reiki master, but that Reiki Master can be remotely located.
